What to Expect During HVAC Maintenance
If you’ve added high-tech upgrades like a smart thermostat or whole-home air purifier to your home in Fairfax, Virginia, you already understand the importance of enhancing HVAC efficiency. Regular HVAC maintenance is another way to protect that investment. You can ensure that your system remains in peak condition for as long as possible. Here’s what to expect from an HVAC maintenance visit.
Thorough Inspections
The first thing our HVAC technician will do is thoroughly check all of the components of your HVAC system. This includes both indoor and outdoor units, electrical connections, your thermostat, the condensate drain line, and your filters. During a fall visit, we will pay special attention to heating components, while spring maintenance checks will focus more on your air conditioning. The goal is to make sure your HVAC system is prepared for the demands of the upcoming season.
Cleaning
During our inspections, we may find that certain parts require cleaning. These could include components such as the evaporator coil, the condensate drain, the blower compartment, and the condenser. Your outdoor unit may be littered with leaves and other debris that could impact its operation. Meanwhile, dirty ductwork may need to be cleaned to improve your indoor air quality and the efficiency of your HVAC system as a whole.
Replacing Components
Even if your system does not require major repairs, there could be parts that need to be changed. The most obvious is your system’s filter. Although you should be changing the filter yourself between visits, we are happy to switch it out for you. We may also suggest changes to your thermostat settings and make other minor tweaks, such as tightening connections and correcting fluid levels.
HVAC maintenance visits can be quick and easy, but don’t let that fool you into thinking they aren’t needed! These inspections help us catch problems early so that we can make minor adjustments rather than costly repairs later.
